How We Verify Casino Ownership
Every link between a brand and a company on this site rests on a document you can open yourself. This page explains which documents count, how we record them and what “unverified” means.
1. The documents we use
- Terms and conditions of the brand: the company that offers the service is usually named in the first clauses.
- Licence registers and validators: the regulator’s own page listing the licensee and, often, its other domains.
- The site footer: company name, registration number and licence seal.
- News about regulator action: cease-and-desist letters and fines name the company a regulator holds responsible.
Review sites, forums and affiliate pages can point us in the right direction, but on their own they never put a brand in a family.
2. How we record evidence
For each document we store the URL, a short verbatim quote and the date we read it. You see the same evidence on every family page and sister page, so you can check it in one click.
3. When brands become a family
Brands share a family when documents name the same company, or companies that the documents themselves tie together (for example the same licensee named on both sites). When brands only look alike (same templates, same software, same affiliate programme) we may still show the group, but we say exactly what the link is based on and mark the family as unverified.
4. “Unverified” and “Verified”
Data collected from documents starts as unverified. A family becomes verified only after our editor has opened every piece of evidence and confirmed it, and the date of that check is shown on the page. Evidence older than 90 days is re-checked.
5. Shared accounts and self-exclusion
We say an account or a self-exclusion is shared only when the operator’s own terms say so. If they do not, we write “unverified”. In that case, if you want to stop gambling, self-exclude on every site of the family one by one.
6. Corrections
If you work for an operator or spot an error, send us the document that proves it. We update the page and the evidence date.
